Due to its location on the Milicz Ponds, in the NATURA 2000 bird reserve “Dolina Baryczy”, and near natural reserves “Olszyny Niezgodzkie” and “Stawy Milickie”, the area of the Inspectorate is a great attraction for tourists, nature lovers, and ornithologists. There are tourist trails both for the fans of trekking and cycling in the area. The “Niezgoda I” pond has a special bird hide which can be used to observe many bird species. Fans of freshwater fish can visit one of the biggest fish farms in Europe in Ruda Sułowska and have a delicious meal there, while anglers can use its commercial fishing ground. The “Stawy Milickie” reserve covers the area of 5,324 ha of the nearly 8,000 ha on which 5 pond complexes stretch. The “Ruda Sułowska”, “Radziądz”, and “Jamnik” pond complexes are located entirely within the Inspectorate’s forests. The surrounding forests provide a vast range of natural habitats (mainly marshy meadows and wet-ground forests) which are part of the NATURA 2000 protected area “Ostoja nad Baryczą”. Big diversity of animal species is a great attraction for nature lovers and photographers, while the variety of game species attracts many hunters. |
